Boys’ Brigade
The Boys’ Brigade is part of the activities of Thornleigh Community Baptist Church. It is a worldwide organisation that has been successful in operating youth programs for over 100 years. The main focus is to nurture Boys, based on Christian values, to serve and lead.
BB has different sections for Boys of ages 5-18 years old. The 108th NSW Thornleigh Company meets on Wednesday nights for up to one and a half hours to enjoy many different activities.
As well as regular Wednesday night meetings, activities include swimming carnivals, bushwalks, camps, caving, abseiling, first aid, sports and carft.
Specially trained leaders ensure that, as well as having fun, boys can participate in award schemes and programs to develop new skills and interests to learn about themselves.
Boys who participate will make new friends, be taught values and self-respect, and develop a strength of character which will remain with them for life.
Wednesday night activities are held in the Activities Centre from 6:30pm:
Anchor Boys for ages 5-7 years (6:30-7:30pm)
Section One for Boys aged from 8-11 years (7:00-8:30pm)
Section Two for Boys aged from 12-18 years (7:00-9:00pm)
